Blue Ridge Consort is a new choral ensemble in Western North Carolina.
Blue Ridge Consort is a choral ensemble dedicated to inspiring and empowering the communities of Western North Carolina through the transformative power of choral music. Committed to artistic excellence, the ensemble presents performances of the highest caliber, fostering a deep connection between music and the people it serves. Rooted in the region’s rich heritage, Blue Ridge Consort embraces inclusivity, innovation, and community engagement, ensuring that its programming reflects both tradition and forward-thinking creativity as it brings people together through the shared experience of music.
2026-2027 Season
Our fourth season is underway with three exciting new programs: My Spirit Loudly Sings in fall 2026, Out Under the Sky in winter 2026, and Petite messe solennelle in spring 2027. Each concert offers its own reflection on joy, stillness, and song — stay tuned for full program details.

My Spirit Loudly Sings

First United Methodist Church, Waynesville
We open our fourth season with My Spirit Loudly Sings on Saturday, October 3 at the First United Methodist Church of Waynesville. This program was inspired by the people and the musics of Appalachia - we’ll be returning to arrangements of old favorites like Old Joe Clark, Black is the Color of My True Love’s Hair, My Heart’s in the Highlands, and I’ll Be On My Way. We’re also excited to explore and proud to present new arrangements of folksongs, sacred songs, and hymn tunes like This Old Hammer, Pretty Saro, and Bright Morning Stars. This program will stir the heart, delight the mind, and invigorate the soul.
Out Under the Sky

Black Mountain Presbyterian Church
Our second program of the 2026/27 season is Out Under the Sky, which will be held on Saturday, December 5 at Black Mountain Presbyterian Church. Winter and the holiday season provide such marvelous opportunities for music-making, and we are excited to present music by such beloved composers as John Rutter, John Jacob Niles, and Walter Ehret alongside Western art music legends like Hildegard von Bingen and modern voices like Roderick Williams, Jocelyn Hagen, and Reena Esmail. Out Under the Sky features both old favorites and new works that will delight our guests!
Petite messe solennelle

Centenary United Methodist Church, Winston-Salem
Our final program of the 2026/27 season will be a full performance of Gioachino Rossini’s great masterwork Petite messe solennelle on Saturday, May 8 at Centenary United Methodist Church in Winston-Salem. This work will feature an incredible quartet and soloists from amongst our membership as well as our exceptional collaborative artist Tate Addis. Additionally, we are delighted to be joined by Dr. Jonathan Emmons at the organ. We are delighted to make our first visit to the Piedmont Triad to conclude our fourth season and to present this incredible 19th Century masterpiece!
